The Lamb of God Christian Community began with our pastor, his wife and daughter being sent out "through the laying on of hands" from a Spirit-filled church in Greenwich, New York in the fall of 1981. Prior to that release, they were members of that Christian Community for some four years. Our spiritual roots are found in the ministry of Stanley R. Hanby. He was a pioneering ministry planting some 20 plus churches in Ohio and upstate New York connecting back to the Azusa St. revival of the early 1900's.

In October 1983 after receiving a phone call from a college student a small prayer meeting took place at a local college campus. Through the years, the Lord Jesus has added to the church people for His purpose. With the loving and tender dealing of the Lord Jesus Christ, relationships between members are realized and strengthened as a core of hearts continue to walk together as "one corporate covenanted man" here on earth. This is where we find ourselves at this time. The principles of love, trust, faith, hope, redemption, sanctification, along with the foundational teachings in Hebrews 6:1,2 are taught as foundation stones layed "line upon line" in this ministry. Understanding the metaphor of the apostle Paul which is the "body of Christ" we endeavor to grow up and "press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
